Bloomsburg #436 Community Support Helps Danville Challengers Reach New Heights

The Bloomsburg Elks Lodge #436 recently welcomed members of the Danville Challengers Baseball Team, who stopped by to personally thank the Lodge for its generous donation that helped make a memorable trip to Virginia for a Little League/Senior baseball game possible.

Representing the Challengers were President Brian Shoop, player Jon Shoop, Coach Monica Fields, and player Jalyn Fields. During their visit, Brian shared some of the challenges the organization faces. As travel and operating costs continue to rise, providing opportunities for every player to participate becomes increasingly difficult. Despite these obstacles, the team's commitment to inclusion and accessibility remains unwavering.

The Danville Challengers operate two teams and play nearly every Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Echo Field in Danville. Their program provides athletes with the opportunity to enjoy the game of baseball, build friendships, and develop confidence through teamwork and participation.

The visit served as a powerful reminder of the impact community partnerships can have. Bloomsburg Elks Lodge #436 was honored to receive a commemorative plaque and even more grateful for the opportunity to support such an inspiring group.
