"Hoop Shoot" State Finals

51st Annual Pennsylvania “Hoop Shoot” Finals

State College/Bellefonte, Pennsylvania

March 3-4, 2023

Friday, March 3

6:00 - 8:00 pm Registration – Will be held at the Bellefonte Area High School.  All the contestants need to register and draw for their shooting position.  If you ordered any additional Saturday Breakfast Banquet tickets ($21)  they can be picked up during this time.  Our Drug Awareness and Membership information will also be on display.

6:00 - 8:00 pm Get Acquainted Reception – Contestants, their families and guests are invited to enjoy some pizza, snacks and soda during Registration, held in Bellefonte Area High School Auxiliary Gym.

Saturday, March 4

7:45 am Breakfast of Champions – Will be held at the Penn Stater Conference Center, in the Presidents Hall.  The Contestants will sit up front at their reserved tables.    Everyone is welcome to attend, but you must have your ticket to enter the room.  Each contestant will receive 3 tickets for breakfast and will receive them at registration. All late contestant registrations will be handled prior to breakfast.

9:00 - 9:15 am Exit for the Gym – Transportation will be up to the individual families to arrive at Bellefonte Area High School is at 830 East Bishop Street, Bellefonte, PA 16823.  NO BUSES WILL BE TRANSPORTING anyone.

9:30 am 2023 PA State Hoop Shoot Contestants Group Picture – Please be on time!

9:35 - 10:00 am. Practice/Warm-up Time – No one is allowed in the gym prior to 9:00am

10:00 - 10:30 am Opening Ceremonies – Parade of Champions, introduction of our special guests and the singing of our National Anthem & Pledge of Allegiance. 

10:30 - 2:30 pm Pennsylvania State “Hoop Shoot” Finals – The Contest will be held at the Bellefonte High School.  The 8-9 age groups will shoot first, followed by the 10-11’s, and finally the 12-13’s.  First, second and third place medallions and trophies will be awarded after each contest.  Each contestant will also be presented their participation plague.  There will be a fifteen-minute intermission between contests.  The concession stand, in the Lobby, will be open during the contest.  Winners are asked to stay to the end for pictures.
